April 16, 2006 A wonderful email from one of customers. My partner and I decided to share our anniversary at Cafe Serene as our prior experience was fabulous. The decor, lighting, and music serve to create a warm, relaxed mood. The service is impeccable, Gail made sure we were satisfied throughout our visit while being unobtrusive. The bread is great and the Armenian eggplant spread is outstanding. We were open to suggestion for an appetizer and Gail informed us that the Chef's specialty is the parmesan crab cake. It lived up to our expectation and then some! The breading was perfectly crispy and the crab meat inside was smooth and creamy, delightful. I designed my own pasta entree comprised of rigatoni with the prosciutto pomodoro sauce with added grilled chicken. Wow! The pasta was not over-cooked and held a great firm texture while the sauce was bold and hearty. The prosciutto worked well to complement the sauce which had just the right amount of sweetness about it. And the grilled chicken addition was a wise choice...there was a great smoky flavor that stood out and added nicely to the dish. My partner enjoyed the parmesan coated chicken breast so much at our first outing that she had it again this time as well! She shared some with me and I was impressed with its preparation, a fine choice. And what a great portion, she barely finished half! Cafe Serene offers great service, a comfortable atmosphere, and a top-notch meal for the dollar. We will continue to visit them to enjoy many similar great experiences. Andrew Livingston Go to Top
